How this all happened?
OUR STORY
So basically, the first weekend of August, us Toronto haps have a youth camping trip in Killarney called Canoe Trip.
In August 2025, on Saturday night, after we had canoed to the island and got our camp all set up, lots of us were sitting around the bonfire chatting and enjoying the moment.
And all of a sudden, Ev comes up behind me and cracks an egg on my head…
Later that night, we were covered in syrup, jam, mustard, ketchup and egg.
And that's where it all started.
After that we started snapping, and everything went sooo smoothly. We would be chatting late into the night, just getting to know each other.
Until one day Ev tells me,
"Hey, we should go do something before I go elk hunting."
And I was like:
YES YES YES YES!!
Then Thursday comes, and we meet up just the two of us for the very first time. I was working that day before we met up and hui, I was in another world the whole day. I could not concentrate on work at all. Then came the time to leave for our first date.
Voi kauhia. I had never been so nervous and kakat housussa in my life as I was that day.
Anyways, I made it to the hockey rink, jumped into Ev's car, and Ev took me on this super romantic walk along the train tracks. I later found out it was his fishing spot… and basically the only place he knew in Alliston. 😂
I thought it was the cutest, most romantic spot ever. And I was head over heels.
We officially started courting at the end of October 2025.
Then on July 18, 2026, Ev and I went to Niagara Falls for a date. Little did I know what he had up his sleeve… I thought for sure I would know when he was going to propose, but nope. He was so nonchalant that I had absolutely no idea.
We went to this quieter little park by Niagara Falls, away from all the crowds.
And that's where Ev asked me:
"Will you marry me?"
I was in shock.
Sooo happy. Sooo excited.
And now here we are, getting ready to celebrate our wedding day on
April 3, 2027.
From an egg cracked over my head on Canoe Trip… to forever. 🤍
